Ms. Hannah McLean
Hannah is a student at Yorkville University where she is completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Hannah’s professional background includes research experiences focusing on mental health and housing supports for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, as well as work with children in vulnerable circumstances. These experiences have contributed to Hannah’s passion for counselling, and desire to further her education in this area.
Hannah takes a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to counselling. She believes people are resilient and capable of growth, even in the face of adversity. Hannah works collaboratively with participants to help them find meaning in their experiences and deepen their self-understanding by drawing on inner strengths and creativity. Similarly, Hannah applies a sex-positive approach in therapy, including supporting participants navigating relational boundaries and sexual empowerment.
Outside of counselling, Hannah loves spending time outdoors hiking with her dogs. She enjoys watching 2000s TV shows and documentaries, cooking, yoga, playing piano, and reading. Hannah describes her perfect day as a sunny one spent on the beach, savouring a sandwich with a coke.
